Privacy
Window Seat has no accounts. We don't know who you are, and we'd like to keep it that way.
What we collect
- Routes and flights you look up. Used to build the answer and cached so the next person gets it instantly.
- A scrambled version of your IP address, used only to count usage and unique feedback. We never store the real one.
- Feedback, if you send it. Your voice note is turned into text and the audio is thrown away. We keep the text, a screenshot of the screen you were on, and the flight you were viewing.
- Anonymous usage counts, like which screens and buttons get used, through PostHog in cookieless mode: no cookies, nothing stored on your device, no profile of you.
- Settings on your phone, like your last view. These stay in your browser and never reach us.
Who else is involved
To answer your question, the app talks to FlightAware (flight paths), Open-Meteo (weather, fetched by your phone), NASA, EOX and Esri (map imagery), Wikipedia (landmark photos), Groq (turning voice into text), Anthropic (summarizing feedback), PostHog (anonymous usage counts) and Sentry (error reports, with no IP address or personal data). They see the request, not who you are.
What we never do
Sell data. Show ads. Ask for your name, email or location without a reason you can see.
Questions or deletion requests
Use the Feedback button in the app. A person reads every note.
